How I made this game

This is the story of how I died

At the beginning
I had planned to do a classic click and point game or at least one of those where the whole scenario is seen in front of the player. But then I realized that I had already spent three days just thinking about the story and I despaired.
I had two stories in mind: one about a detective and one about a demon. So, I did a little of each. The design of the first character was this

Why are his pants attached to his shoes? I wanted to make a simple design so that I would have time to draw everything.

I made the final drawing and all the walk animation that had about 20 different frames, it looked very fluid. (WHY I MADE SO MANY FRAMES?)
Then I realized that at that rate I couldn't finish anything. I would spend all my time just making the characters and then I would also have to draw the scenarios.

At the top of that  I still didn't have a clear story, just the general idea.

So I decided not to make a click and point game and use the pixel art tilesets that I had made for another game to made a classic top 2d game. It would be faster than having to draw all the scenarios from scratch. I thought, what a mistake.

It was practically the same. I had to modify many tilesets and make some new ones, I also had to create the walls, floors, accommodate everything, shadows, animations. To begin with, I only made the protagonist's room.

AND STILL DIDN'T HAVE A CLEAR STORY! but I couldn't worry about that, I knew the story was  somewhere in my head.
So I made some characters bust.
-I need an angel!- I said.  -and some randoms characters!

The angel look so nice to me that I said that the protagonist would be in love with him, then the story came out.
I painted all the drawings as simple as possible without many shadows or almost nothing to not waste more time.  While I was drawing them I thought a bit about the personality of each one.

I haven't started making the game yet!

Since I had the busts of the characters done I made their sprites. Only the protagonist would have walking animation because it's so tedious to do that. BUT THE ANGEL NEED A WALKING ANIMATION TOO! shhhh...let's put a long robe on him and his arms together ...
When I finish almost all the art, I say almost because I still had a few rooms to do, I started putting together the game.
I had the idea a little clearer in my head, the truth is that I was developing at the same time that I was creating the game.

I only had 9 days to make the game! WHY DO I SPEND SO MUCH TIME MAKING ART? In those 9 days I worked more than 12 hours each.

I wake up at 11am-12pm  and sleep at 3 am.  I took a whole day to find the music and finish the rooms that were missing. ( all this added to several hours where the power went out in my country and break the game.) I NEED A LAPTOP!

Then my internet failed and I couldn't upload the game xDDD ahh, someone kill me!
At the end I saw the light, I upload the game and then die.

The end
Why did I write this if nobody cares? Because it was very funny for me. ( a funny tragedy)
